T-Town PAWS, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to promoting animal welfare and eliminating animal overpopulation, suffering and needless death in our community.
Programs: Our goal at T-Town PAWS is to find good homes for our homeless, but perfectly adorable and adoptable cats and dogs. The vast majority of our dogs and cats are rescued from Metro Animal Shelter before their time is up. However, from time to time, PAWS has the ability to accept a few pets from the public depending on factors such as space and health.
Cats and dogs awaiting adoption are sheltered in our pet adoption facility or in the homes of our foster families. We do not euthanize healthy, adoptable pets - they remain in our care until adopted however long that may take.
While in our care, staff members, volunteers, and foster families tend to the animals' food and shelter needs, and give them care and affection. Every dog, cat, puppy, and kitten is readied for adoption with a health check, basic inoculations, tests for life-threatening diseases, and spaying or neutering of all cats and dogs who are old enough. When adopting an kitten or puppy too young to be spayed or neutered, upon strict screening we issue a spay/neuter certificate to cover a portion of the surgery cost. We then track and follow-up with adoptive families to make sure every pet we adopt is spayed or neutered.
Pet adoption fees, one small source of our funding, range from $25 to several hundred dollars, depending on age, breed / breed-mix, length of stay, and other factors. The average pet adoption fee is $75. Adoption fees for puppies or kittens too young to be spayed or neutered are generally more than adult dogs, though prices are set with the pending spay/neuter surgery in mind.
