As the Director/Administrator of this grassroots project to restore this magnificent historic church and Veterans' Memorial I am always in awe of this grand effort to save an important piece of history. I encourage everyone to visit our website. www.stjosephmission.org for more information.

I am one of the current Directors of this project that is working hard to restoration this important historic church and Veterans' Memorial. This is a grand building that has a big impact on all who visit from around the world. Our Mission statement says it all we are "Restoring the Building and Rebuilding Lives". Structured as an on-the-job training program we are giving young adults a second chance to live a life of sobriety and gain valuable job skills.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

numerous ways. I have witnessed young people of the community be transformed from shy, insecure, inexperienced young adults into confident, secured adults with job skills and a desire to live a sober lifestyle.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

encourage more people to volunteer.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

being involved with such a great group of people, from staff to the many volunteers and trainees. Plus the satisfaction that I ma making a difference while doing what I love to do.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

and are so committed to see this building totally restored for future generations to enjoy.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Not only finish in record time and give many more young adults job skill training in historic building preservation, but we could establish a foundation to get other similar projects started.

Ways to make it better...

I didn't have to spent so much of my time searching for and obtaining funding to keep the project moving forward.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding! We have proved over the past 10 years that we have the skills needed to be successful, and though we have also been successful in our fund raising efforts, it is difficult in these economic times.

One thing I'd also say is that...

the quote from Colin Powell has been inspirational for me "A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work". I have learned that perseverance and respect for others is important for success.

As a child our family attended church and I help with the instruction classes. I now live in the NW and visit each time we go home I admire the folks working on the project as it was in need of lots of work. It has been amazing how much work has been done and the enormous improvement which have gone on. I donate to the annual raffles, my whole family has purchased a tile from the roof of the church. My nephew was involved with the art work on the tiles and when I do have exta money to donate I send my donation for the restoration project. My cousin is the nun who works with our people so,yes I do support this important project. Please consider donating.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

pride as a Mescalero Apache with the renovation.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Not chage a thing

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

All of the wonderful work that has been done to the church is wonderful. It has provided a number of jobs and skills to many of our people and community members.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

they had a sense of pride to have worked on this project they appreciated the opportuntiy given to them to work on such a historical building.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Complete all of the other little projects it needs to be done. the bulk of the donations are for the structure of the building it would be nice to take care of the little task such as new heating, wiring, and advertising the success of the project.

Ways to make it better...

I lived closer to volunteer to the project

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

money

One thing I'd also say is that...
