Address:

Mission:

Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families. Founded by the mother of two American soldiers, we have hundreds of thousands of volunteers assisting veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of unique and effective ways. Soldiers’ Angels responds quickly to requests for support and provides individualized, immediate assistance.  It is a “one-on-one, get it done quickly” organization.  Our volunteer Angels at home adopt individual deployed troops and stay in touch throughout their deployment. Wounded soldiers and their families are asked what they need, and Soldiers’ Angels responds in a hundred different ways:  voice-activated computers; financial assistance for loved ones to stay with their wounded family member; phone cards to call relatives who can’t visit as often as they wish, etc.  Both the organization and the program have grown, but, unfortunately, the needs of our deployed soldiers and their families are growing even faster. This is especially true for our young men and women who are wounded. The government is providing first-class medical care for our wounded soldiers, but it will never be able to provide all of what they deserve and so many services desperately needed by their families.  Soldiers’ Angels works closely with the Department of Defense, the nation’s major veterans groups and a variety of other military support organizations to make sure these brave young men and women who are being helped.

Reviews for Soldiers' Angels

Rating: 5 stars

Soldiers' Angels is a wonderful organization providing such a great service to thank our service members for protecting our freedom. I am on their Letter Writing Team and its great to thank our military by writing to them to let them know they do so much for us. This is an easy task & important to communicate. They need our support as we need theirs

I love being a Soldiers' Angel. I am on several teams, one of which is the Sewing & Craft Team. This lets me be creative and give back to our military at the same time. I have made blankets for our depoloyed service members as well as many of our veterans in hospitals. I have tried different organizations in the past, but Soldiers' Angels is the best! Our team leaders and other volunteers are so great!

Would you volunteer for this group again?

I love being part of Soldiers' Angels. The team leaders rock, and it is so rewarding. I am part of several teams...sewing & crafting, letter writing, cards plus, women of valor, operation top knot, and currently have 2 adopted female soldiers. There is something for everyone, and you can do as much as you are able. Great people coming together to do great things!

I have so much fun being part of the Soldiers' Angels organization. What a wonderful feeling to give so little to those military members and veterans who give so much! I love the teams I am on and the support I receive from the team leaders. The other volunteers are so supportive and I am honored to be part of this organization.

I love being a Soldiers' Angel's volunteer. I have 2 adopted soldiers and am on the sewing team, the cards plus team and support a caregiver as part of our Women of Valor team. The team leaders are fantastic to work with. Just knowing that we make a difference to so many people makes me happy. The comraderie between the director, associates, team leaders, and volunteers & the support avaiable is awesome.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Volunteering with Soldier's Angels is possibly one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in my life. The opportunity to interact on a one on one basis with our military is far more rewarding than just throwing money at an organization. And when I receive a reply from one of our military that I have written to, I makes my heart beat faster to know that I have given a little joy to someone who has given so much for all of us! ! This is the best group I have ever come across in all my 67 years!! TY, SOLDIER'S ANGELS, for allowing me the experience of a lifetime!!

I have supported and/or volunteered with several organizations supporting our military over a 20 year span. Soldiers' Angels is truly outstanding, offering a range of services to military and veteran's families and just as many service opportunities to the Angel volunteers. From the perspective of both a military wife and an Angel volunteer, I can honestly say that Soldiers' Angels is a blessing to military families, veterans, and volunteers alike!

I joined Soldiers' Angels in memory of my son who died in 2009 at the age of 12. He was a huge supporter of our troops despite not growing up in a military family. When looking for an organization to devote time to, there were many, SA stood out above all others because of their vast opportunities and sense of community. The system is easy to use and there is always someone willing to answer a question if something comes up. The closed Facebook groups are a great resource as well. I have been fortunate to receive many replies from service members and they show so much appreciation for all the volunteers.

I'm forever grateful that I found Soldiers' Angels in 2007. I'm on 3 teams and it gives me a chance to do something for our active duty men and women and veterans, which means I'm doing something for my country. I'm from a military family that goes back to the American Revolution and that means the world to me.

Soldiers' Angels is a wonderful group that is totally non-profit and cares so much about our Veterans; deployed and all military families. I am part of the Letter Writing Team and I write letters to our deployed men and women of the armed forces. I appreciate all that our military does for us to keep us safe & free and this one way I can give back to them! It's totally a volunteer position and I love it! This organization really cares and I will keep supporting it!

Soldiers' Angels is such a great organization. I am able to support my country and our great soldiers while at the same time work with great people, be creative, and practice writing and communication skills. The organization supports our troops and we all support each other. You can just step right in and get going making a difference right away like I did.

I joined the Letter writing team through Soldiers' Angels back in April and fell in love with the whole idea of writing. Being an English major, I've always had a passion for writing but I've become more accustomed to writing to strangers. Every time I receive mail, I have a smile on my face, especially when soldiers tell me how much they laughed at my letter writing.

I now am a Group Leader of the Letter Writing Team and couldn't be more proud! I hope to encourage new people to write and to make letter writing a hobby again :)

Soldiers' Angels is an amazing organization, but a lot of organizations can say that. The one thing that has set them apart in my mind is their span of volunteer opportunities. They have options for every age from 5 years to 100, and there is a way for every group size to be involved to help veterans. This combined with options to volunteer for every skill level and pretty much anywhere in the country, allows for a unique volunteer experience. My opinion is that this should be the first place to go if you are looking to volunteer to help veterans. The answer is always yes, they need you.
