Mission: Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families. Founded by the mother of two American soldiers, we have hundreds of thousands of volunteers assisting veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of unique and effective ways. Soldiers’ Angels responds quickly to requests for support and provides individualized, immediate assistance. It is a “one-on-one, get it done quickly” organization. Our volunteer Angels at home adopt individual deployed troops and stay in touch throughout their deployment. Wounded soldiers and their families are asked what they need, and Soldiers’ Angels responds in a hundred different ways: voice-activated computers; financial assistance for loved ones to stay with their wounded family member; phone cards to call relatives who can’t visit as often as they wish, etc. Both the organization and the program have grown, but, unfortunately, the needs of our deployed soldiers and their families are growing even faster. This is especially true for our young men and women who are wounded. The government is providing first-class medical care for our wounded soldiers, but it will never be able to provide all of what they deserve and so many services desperately needed by their families. Soldiers’ Angels works closely with the Department of Defense, the nation’s major veterans groups and a variety of other military support organizations to make sure these brave young men and women who are being helped.

I have volunteered with soldier's angels since 2012. I started because I wanted to share my stories with deployed military, I stayed because every last one of them truly appreciates our volunteers. I surprised my veteran dad with a birthday surprise from hundreds of angels from across the country sending him cards and well wishes. He loved it! He bragged about that for months. Other seniors in his complex were so jealous. It was the best gift I could have given him.
Soldier's Angels is the best charitable organization that I have worked for that focuses on deployed and veteran service members. Every one is in the organization to support our service members. It is an honor and privilege to give what I can to the effort to protect and defend America.
I don't volunteer for the recognition. I volunteer because this organization makes a difference with the service members defending America. This is my way of saying Thank you! And it is noticed and appreciated by the deployed military.
I joined Soldier's Angels based on its commitment to serve deployed soldiers, veterans, and wounded soldiers. The soldiers are truly appreciative to get letters and care packs from the volunteers in this organization. This is one of the few charitable organizations where most of the financial support goes directly to the soldiers in the field and not administrative costs.
I have been writing letters and adopting soldiers since December 2012. I have so many family member who are or were in the military and know first hand how important letters from home are. I can tell from the letters and communications i receive back, that the troops really do appreciate the cards/letters/care packs -- even if they are from people they do not know. This organization allows me the opportunity to express my thanks to the troops on an individual basis, and to let them know how important their work is to America.
I'm a volunteer with this group on several different teams - Letter Writing, Cards Plus, Chaplain Support and DEployed Soldiers. The fact that they have different groups for us to work through to support our soldiers is perfect - they are responsive to questions, always encourage us and provide a foundation/way for us to give back to those who protect our way of life. And those are just the groups I work with - there are many more. This a wonderful organization. I've supported them via donations for many years, but in 2016 decided to do more to give back. Glad they are there for us, and for our men & women in the armed forces.
I've been on the letter writing team since this past August and I absolutely love everything about it. What Soldiers' Angels does is something so incredible and unique and I am so proud to be apart of it. Out of all the community service I have done this is always my favorite. Getting to read some of the notes the soldiers leave for us even gets me choked up sometimes. Those people serving our country deserve everything.
I'm on the Letter Writing Team and so far I'm very impressed. As a veteran, I'm interested in helping others vets and boosting moral. I enjoy writing letters and sending cards knowing that they make someone's day a little brighter. This is a great organization.
