Mission: To bring together professional engineers and those in engineering-related fields to improve and increase the engineering capabilities of the nation and to exchange and advance the knowlegde of engineering technologies, applications, and practices.
Programs: The sacramento post of the society of american engineers (same) awards scholarships annualy to high school and college students who are studying engineering or related technical sciences including architecture, math, physics, chemistry, geology and earth sciences. Scholarships vary from $1,000 to $4,000.
monthly luncheon seminars, regional water conference, anti-terrorism and emergency preparedness, post leadership workshop, young leadership training and other professional/social activities support education and networking to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in various scientific fields.
community service donations to organizations, programs or activities that efficiently support causes similar to those considered by the sacramento post throughout the greater sacramento community, specifically programs that advance the study of mathematics and science to economically disadvantaged elementary and high school students.
