Sight & Hearing Association is committed to enabling lifetime learning by identifying preventable loss of vision and hearing in children.
Each year, SHA provides vision and hearing screening to over 16,000 preschoolers in Head Start, daycare and preschool centers in Minnesota. Glaucoma, vision and hearing screening is also provided to hundreds of adults at community and corporate health fairs throughout the state. SHA sponsors "International Noise Awareness Day" by coordinating hearing screening for hundreds of adults throughout Minnesota. Community health campaigns related to firework and car battery jumpstart safety are also sponsored each year. Information is also distributed on topics such as, noise-induced hearing loss, glaucoma, macular degeneration, tinnitus, amblyopia, and others, to name a few.
