Saundra's Haven mission: § To provide free tutoring to inner-city children § To tutor in reading, reading comprehension, written expression, math and verbal articulation skills § To be an after school program that helps inner-city children excel in academics § To provide nutritious snacks to the students which feed their bodies and minds § To teach moral values and public etiquette skills while encouraging the students to be productive members of our communities
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Attending A/B Honor Roll Activities Attended the play A Thanksgiving Day Play based on the book, "They Changed My Name At Ellis Island".
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Provide more funding sources so that their program can reach many more children in need. Saundra's Haven is after schools program that is imperative for the inner city children of the 89106-west side neighborhood zip code.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing the students grow in self confidence in their academics.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Include licensed Teachers, community volunteers, business professionals and parents. Our staff undergo regular trainings, professional and criminal background checks. Saundra’s Haven employees have a myriad of education and background experience in business and journalism.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Exceed its goals and establish scholarships for students, to attend/complete 4-year College or Universities.
Ways to make it better...
I pray the organization receives more funding this is a valued program. I would not like to see the students hurt by not being able to attend Saundra's Haven.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
1) A 9-passenger transportation van to transport the students from their schools to Saundra's haven facility. 2). Funding sources to provide more student enrichment activities and 3). Hiring more qualified teachers and staff.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The founder of this organization is 110% behind the mission of Saundra's Haven. Her passion is illustrated in the students, staff and visible to parents and community leaders.
