Rooterville's mission is to encourage compassion for ALL animals. Factory farming is the greatest source of the most egregious animal cruelty on the planet, killing over 10 billion animals every year just in the USA. The best thing we can do to help animals, our own health and the environment is to adopt a plant-based diet!
Rooterville has had two great events which each hosted approx. 250 people, we have hundreds of visitors and volunteers every year and we have passed out over 300,000 flyers and expect to hand out thousands more to people at pet expos and students at the Univ. of FL and Santa Fe college campus' encouraging them to adopt a compassionate, plant-based diet. We are excited that our new billboards will be going up soon on I-75 and I-95 with cute pictures of baby farm animals and puppies and kittens, asking viewers the question: "Why love one but eat the other?" We rescue dozens of animals every year who have no other hope and many who have endured terrible abuse and suffering. Visit our website to see some of the stories of these "lucky" ones who serve as ambassadors for all animals being raised for food, eggs and dairy products. Every year we show the film: "Farm to Fridge" to hundreds of people and the documentary in which Rooterville was featured, "Eating Mercifully" has been shown to millions!
Geographic areas served:
North Florida and the world!
The sanctuary is home to over 300 rescued farm animals and we have at least two events every year like the Boo at the Roo and Hoggy Holidays Celebration which draw many visitors. We have many volunteer and open house opportunities for visitors and we always welcome them by appointment as well. Meeting the animals is a fun, educational and, we hope, life-changing experience for hundreds of people every year. We have a leafleting program and pass out thousands of leaflets every year at college campuses and events. We have billboards that ask the question: "Which do you love and which do you eat? WHY? " to encourage passersby to think about the fact that when they eat meat, they are causing the suffering and death of a real animal. Life Reclaimed Ministries offers classes to the community to reverse and prevent Diabetes, Heart Disease, lose weight and feel great! Our goal is to reduce animal suffering by promoting a healthful whole-food, plant-based diet.

A beyond amazing place. Heaven on earth, not only for the rescued piggies, moos, chickens, goats and turkeys, but for all who enter the gates. Spending time with these beautiful animals is truly a special gift. Elaine is one of the kindest souls I've ever met in my entire life, and I aspire to one day be even half the woman that she is.
I'm so grateful a place like Rooterville exists! This isn't a petting zoo, it is a sanctuary where animals go to live naturally. Animals that may have been abused and neglected and may have died if not for Rooterville. Rooterville rocks! Check out one of their volunteer days :-)
I visited the farm on one of their volunteer days and was thoroughly impressed. I was surrounded by hardworking, dedicated people who love helping animals. The animals themselves were so happy and carefree in their environment. I would recommend visiting the farm to everyone because it is a wonderful place to visit.
My wife & I spent 2 days & 1 night at Rooterville. The sanctuary was awesome! The animals really are spoiled, and we loved that we could interact with them. We fed them, & learned that cows like bananas :) .. We hope everyone has a chance to visit and see firsthand how cool & friendly these animals really are. Chris & Betty Foster

We finally got around to visiting Rooterville, and we are so glad we did! The love for the residents is evident in all the hard work that goes on there. People who have complained about it being dirty obviously don't go outside very much, let alone to see how animals live outdoors.( by the way, this is NOT a petting zoo!) We found it to be clean and peaceful. We plan on visiting and volunteering regularly.
After looking at the other reviews, I thought Rooterville would be a kind of fantastic petting zoo, but it wasn’t like that at all. We were very surprised. I never write negative reviews, but I think this may be a public service. My family and I love going to animal sanctuaries and zoos, and this is the worst one we’ve ever been to.
It was honestly filthy, gross, and it’s full of pigs swimming around in a big mud puddle. Some of the pigs are pushy and scared our youngest. They only have two ponies, and one of them is too scared to get near you. Plus they don’t tell you they’re Christian and vegan, but those are the focuses of their educational outreach. They spent a lot of time trying to preach to us about being a good Christian by never eating meat again. If you want to get preached to at a dirty, stinky place where you ruin your shoes and get pig snot on your clothes, then perhaps a trip to Rooterville is fine. Otherwise, go to that impressive wild animal sanctuary outside Miami. That was incredible. Or just go to any of the other sanctuaries.
To dirty. Like 300 pigs. Barely anything else. Total waste of our day. Don't understand why their are all these happy reviews?
Rooterville is the epitome of what you expect and love about a life saving and life changing sanctuary for animals to be!

I cannot say enough about Rooterville and the kind hearted people that open their hearts to these animals, but not just animals, they have a passion for helping people as well. I am speaking from personal experience. This past year has brought about health issues for me, and I thought I was going to have to surrender my piggy, and when we took her to Rooterville, and I spoke with the founders, I am not exaggerating when I say they made a profound difference in my life, and my health, just by reaching out and caring enough to help me change things around. They kept my precious Piggy while I recuperated. I am happy to say that I am home with my piggy and we adopted another adorable, loving addition to our family from Rooterville. We are very blessed beyond words to have found such a wonderful place and people!
Rooterville is heaven on earth for sweet animals that would have otherwise had a horrible life!!! Everyone that works there really cares about the animals and welcomes all visitors! What a wonderful place!!!
I have been to Rooterville several times! It is clean and awesome place! The owner and staff are very welcoming! There is a lot of valuable information about animals on the property. Most of all it is a place where animals are loved ! I have volunteered there and loved the experience! It is indeed a sanctuary for all! I can't wait to go back !
