PO Box 155 Shreveport LA 71161 USA

The Robinson Film Center provides access to culturally-enriching classic, independent and foreign cinema otherwise unavailable in North Louisiana. Also, we provide area schools and community centers with quality in-school, after-school and summer programs teaching introductory digital filmmaking. We also act as a resource for the burgeoning regional film industry.

Robinson Film Center is a gem! For years after the closing of Joy's Quail Creek Cinema I longed for a movie theater that showed more than just the Hollywood Blockbusters in a generic corporate environment. The Centenary Film Society provided some relief but I wanted a more consistent (and comfortable!) venue. Then along came the RFC. I loved being a patron so much I became a staff member! Shreveport-Bossier is lucky to have an organization like this. Educate yourself about what they do and then support them however you can. The arts matter.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Giving the people of Shreveport-Bossier access to independent and foreign cinema.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the educational program to include adults.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching films that I would normally have to drive to Dallas to see on a big screen.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Be the centerpiece for the much -needed revitalization of downtown Shreveport. Educate even more children about media literacy and the power of film.

Ways to make it better...

More people were aware that the RFC exists and knew about their mission.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of awareness of what they do and lack of appreciation for what they do. Lack of funding. Lack of parking.

One thing I'd also say is that...

If Robinson Film Center did not exist, Shreveport would be a lot less interesting.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
