Programs: Youth job training - young people are prepared for the work force by teaching hard (bike repair, inventory management) and soft skills (employer expectations, dress codes, timeliness) through work in a retail environment.
youth education - young people are taught the benefits of cycling and recycling, how to fix bikes and how to ride safely by partnering with public schools and various youth organizations. More than 1,000 students participated in the program in 2014.

Recycle-A-Bicycle is a unique treasure in New York City, a mission-driven organization promoting sustainable transportation and youth bike education -- and a community-based bike shop. In partnership with a variety of city government and other nonprofits, Recycle-A-Bicycle promotes access to affordable bicycles all around the city. This organization is the best place in the city to donate your old bike to ensure that someone else -- especially a young person who could not afford a bike -- can experience the joy of cycling.
