I am sure we have all thought, at one time or another--'Why am I here, living in this particular country, doing whatever to make ends meet, wanting better for my child than what I have, etc'. Well, in our short existence, we should decide to either become part of a solution--to help ourselves and our fellow humans to progress, or to do nothing or even hinder this progression. We have put together a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), corporation, called Peopletech, to further this goal. I'm sure you've heard the expression: 'Let's level the playing field'. Basically that means there are certain inequities in the (socio-economic)system we're all involved with. I'm sure most of you have also heard of an old saying that goes something like: 'Getting the tools and knowledge to fish, instead of just receiving the fish'. Meaning, if given the tools and knowledge to use those tools, we could improve our lot. Some of these tools include internet-ready computers and low-cost or free online time and putting them into the homes of underprivileged or disabled children. There is a digital divide in this country, an inequity. Peopletech is about getting the tools to build minds--To Communicate, Educate, Negotiate and Progress! Also, computers are loaded with biohazardous materials. Instead of just throwing computers away, Peopletech is working with various Solid Waste Departments and others in the hope of identifying and recycling those computers. Lastly, because of the vast knowledge of Employment, Management and especially Staffing that's exhibited by the directors of Peopletech, we assist with work-related issues, such as: Discussing background and employment goals; Finding and applying for a position; Writing attention-getting resumes; Improving interviewing techniques; Negotiating compensation; Understanding benefits, etc. Peopletech is looking for people or businesses who want to donate their internet-ready computers, peripherals or money. These are considered gifts and are tax deductible. After receiving these donations, Peopletech will send a Donation Certificate, which will allow the donor to deduct the value of their gift from their taxes. Help us help others!Let us build a strong Democracy together!!
