Mission: The mission of the Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation is to improve the well-being of Nevada families by providing respite to families caring for young children and adult family members with special needs. The NNRFF accomplishes this by training youth volunteers to care for these special children and by providing vouchers for families to choose appropriate respite options. The NNRFF was named "Agency of the Year, 2009" by the Human Services Network, and "Outstanding Program, 2009" by the CAN-Prevent Task Force for the Kristine Nagy-Johnson Awards. The NNRFF operates the only center-based program in Washoe County that offers respite care for families caring for young children with disabilities and/or special needs (2007 Assessment of Nevada´s Child Abuse Prevention Services).

Rave provided respite allowing our family to take a break from the daily routine of care giving. In turn, allowing our family time to volunteer in the community, do things with our other child, attend events (mom and dad time). Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation has improved the well-being of our family by providing respite. NNRFF accomplishes this by having well trained youth volunteers to care for our child and providing our family vouchers to choose appropriate respite options.
