Mission: The mission of nonprofit services center is to strengthen our region's nonprofit organizations and the nonprofit sector as a whole by providing programs, services, and resources that inform, promote and connect nonprofits as they work to improve people's lives. We envision our region's nonprofits serving as leaders in the creation of communities that are safer, more just, and more vibrant places for people to live.
Programs: Nonprofit services center offers its experience in capacity building grants management to funders seeking to invest in eligible nonprofits' organizational core capacities. In partnership with one local funder, nonprofit services center is responsible for recommending, supporting and monitoring the distribution of annual capacity building grants including short-term, technical assistance grants (less than 12 months) and more in-depth, long-term, capacity building support known as comprehensive organizational assessment & development (coad).
as part of its mission to "build strong nonprofit organizational leaders" nsc provides rigorous and informative leadership development experiences for senior executives. Such activities include a mix of leadership programming such as the academy for women executive directors, ed roundtable opportunities, executive coaching, board president council and focus on specific skill building activities. Nsc also offers workshops and seminars through a variety of different forums throughout the service area on key management areas to enhance and strengthen organizational skills and building organizational efficacy for other nonprofit professionals as well. Approximately 1,200 nonprofit professionals attend workshops/training and quarterly forums.
the tobacco prevention cessation initiative program is designed to assist agencies to develop the capacity to maintain prevention program services at a level that will provide ongoing prevention and treatment after termination of major financial, managerial, and technical assistance from missouri foundation for health.
