Mission: The neighborhood center of west volusia's vision is to be an integral part of the collaborative efforts to serve the homeless, to feed the hungry and to prevent homelessness in deland and west volusia county.
Programs: The neighborhood center provides direct client assistance by providing food, clothing, rental and utility assistance and counseling. Over 12,000 clients were assisted in 2014. Services include emergency food bank, daily food pantry as well as emergency bill assistance.
the neighborhood center of west volusias (ncwv) emergency shelter serves those in crisis and who are homeless. Emergency housing provides immediate overnight shelter. Additional services provided during an individuals shelter stay include meals, counseling, job counseling, and a supportive drug/alcohol free environment. Ncwv housing program is a working program and collaborates with local agencies to assist individuals to find employment. Ncwv provides transitional housing for single men and women for up to one year. Residents must seek employment,remain residents, and remain drug and alcohol free. This is a fee-for-service program and individuals are required to meet with a caseworker once per week. The transitional housing environment promotes a therapeutic and supportive community for better success. Ncwv provides transitional housing for single women with children as well as permanent supportive housing to families.
