Mission: The Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 to develop and implement animal welfare programs and services within Naperville and surrounding communities. Our goal is to protect animals and prevent animal suffering. While providing shelter and adoption programs for homeless animals, we also strive to educate the community on compassion, respect and kindness toward all living beings. NAHS is a professional and knowledgeable community resource committed to the humane treatment of every animal and person. As a leading advocate of humane values, we strive to:

The work of NAHS is truly the work of our community. We operate on donations provided by individuals and businesses that make everything we accomplish possible.  We are supported by a dedicated group of volunteers who offer their time and expertise to support our mission.
Programs: Naperville Area Humane Society programs include animal sheltering and adoptions, Pets & Kids After School Program, Animals & Us Summer Day Camp, Pet Therapy, SAFE PETS foster program for the victims of domestic violence and community partnerships with several human service agencies in our service area.
