Mission: The musselshell valley community foundation (mvcf) is committed to enhancing the vitality of the musselshell valley with a yearly grant program as well as managing the funds for special projects.
Programs: The mvcf served as the fiscal sponsor for the musselshell county recovery team (mcrt) which was established to receive donations and disburse payments to individuals affected by the 2011 flood of the musselshell river. The mcrt expanded its mission in 2012 to include individuals affected by the fires that devastated a portion of musselshell county in 2012 and additional flooding in 2013. This entity also served as a host agency to multiple volunteer groups (including americorp) that helped with the disaster recovery efforts.
the mvcf provided funding opportunities to four different non-profits in musselshell valley communities by enhancing worthwhile community vitality projects as well as issuing grants to local non-profits.
the mvcf served as the fiscal sponsor of the annual roundup independence days extravaganza (ride) which includes a childrens rodeo, family entertainment and activities and a theater production serving 5,000 individuals.
the arts & culture committee (a&c) of the musselshell valley community foundation continued its role of sponsoring or hosting local events to entertain, engage, and stimulate people of all ages. A&c members also worked diligently with riverwalk trail users and local government officials to get the trail fully open to the public again, as it had been before severe damage by a flood in 2011.
