Mission: To provide a broad spectrum of programs and services to meet the needs of mississippi children and adults with disabilities, thus enabling them to achieve maximum independence and gain the greatest possible quality of life.
Programs: Client assistance program - provides advocacy services for clients and client applicants of the office of vocational rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation for the blind, and independent living programs of the ms department of rehabilitation services. Approximately 1,000 people benefited from the services of this program during the year.
k. I. D. S. Clinic - provides speech/language screening, evaluation and therapy through licensed and certified speech language pathologists. Services are offered to children and adults with disorders of articulation, language, voice, and fluency. Alternative/augmentative communications needs are also met through the assistance of therapists. Screenings, evaluations and therapy are offiered in-clinic and off-site in such locations as kindergartens, day cares, and local physician's offices. Approximately 1,350 children were served by the clinic during the year.
