As a volunteer at the MCFTA, I have seen the hard work that the teams put forth to make the Center a great success for the public! I am amazed at what it takes to put on a show at Center Stage or to hold one of the Art Fairs or maintain Heritage Park. And they do it all with positive energy and smiles. It is a great place to volunteer but it is also a great place to spend time as a visitor. The museums are outstanding and the shows and events are spectacular. I'm very proud to be a part of MCTFA and proud that Midland has such a great organization.

I am in awe with the talent that provides amazing performances, especially the talented youth that the City of Midland and surrounding counties provide for the symphony and band concerts. Volunteering has given me the opportunity to share my enthusiasm with others in hope that they will attend performances at the Midland Center for the Arts.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

..the knowledge of what masterful performances are available to the patrons of the Midland Center for the Arts. The art fair was a new and interesting experience and caused an awareness of other activities

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

From what I have experienced, the organization is in hands of themasterful supervision.

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

Prior to this opportunity, I had a volunteer position when I was a member of Symphony League. I was in charge of the box office (with no computers) when the Center first opened.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Yes, meeting new and old friends has been a joy. I have learned to wear a smile and to thank those who attend. As the students were leaving, the concert for the Midland Public Schools Fourth Grade Concert, I reminded them to return and visit the Center's museum.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

I look forward to participating wherever I am assigned
