Even as a long-standing, dues-paying member of the MSU APA Union, Union officials have continually REFUSED to release written policies, procedures, or financial records. Union members have continually requested the info, but have been continually rebuffed. The GuideStar web site has now changed those parameters (much to this non-profit Union's chagrin) and union members are now discovering information their leaders don't want disclosed.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
their daily and routine interactions with me and my fellow union members.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
provide full disclosure of Union records and documents, be openly transparent in all union matters (that did not violate privacy regulations), and treat the dues-paying members with respect instead of a condescending manner.
How would you describe the help you got from this organization?
How likely are you to recommend this organization to a friend?
How do you feel you were treated by this organization?
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
How did you find this group?
"Forced" by Michigan laws to join this union, or pay an equivilent "service fee" without receiving the service.
What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?
Because of their continual efforts to circumvent our organization's Constitution & Bylaws by creating "policies" that silence and hinder union members' voices and concerns, they have helped me and other dues-paying members focus on self-determination and reinforced our desire to directly elect our Union leaders.
