Manteca CAPS Corporation (AKA Valley CAPS) Overview
Our Mission Statement: To be a leading Day Program for Adults with Developmental Disabilities, by providing consumer-centered services, empowering them to achieve their full potential and beyond, maximizing their quality of life according to their choices. History - Manteca CAPS was founded in 1976 as a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation to serve people with severe developmental, physical and sensory disabilities in a community day program. It was started with a small grant from the local Kiwanis Service Club and opened its doors for business inside a local firehouse. The corporation is governed by an eleven-member volunteer Board of Directors and employs 130 professional staff for 350 adults, who reside in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.
