Mission: The mission is to stop the spread of hiv/aids, infectious hepatitis and stds on kauai through education and to serve those persons infected with or affected by these diseases.
Programs: Testing education/prevention department provided 275 high risk and general hiv tests. Reached 1,800 persons for counseling and education outreach at various venues and health fairs. Provided 119 hep c tests to high risk population. Provided 87 hep b tests. Provided 78 std tests in first 2 months of added services. Distributed more than 8,000 condoms to the community.
case mgmt/supportive services - the organization provided 54 clients infected with hiv and their families with case management services. 1,756 interventions were provided in housing, mental health, nutrition, medical, transportation and medical insurance areas. 52 of those interventions were emergency or crisis encounters.
