Target demographics: All demographics that are at risk of hunger
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1 million residents of Los Angeles County, of which 40% are children and 5% are seniors.
Geographic areas served: Los Angeles County
Programs: Our programs include; Brown Bag Program for seniors, BackPack and Kids Cafe for children and our general distribution for families and individuals in need of food assistance.
I had volunteered in 2010 to assist with bagging food for the needy. Hard work but fun and challenging. Nice people guided groups for this task. Regularly needs volunteers to assist them. Great for schools to assist them for community service hours for high school or college credit.
