Reviews for KITTYKIND INC

I took KittyKind to court in 2005 because the President and her "staff" took advantage of me: after using my home as their personal shelter and repeatedly promising me reimbursement for taking their sick cats to my vet(s), they claimed that none of the cats in my apartment was theirs! I never filled out paperwork but had enough proof that a judge believed me though he had to dismiss my case for lack of paperwork. You may find some information and links at pennilesscatlovers.blogspot This happened at the time that their President, Marlene kess was brought to court on 200 counts of animal abuse because of the many dead cats rotting in her backyard in NJ. THe remaining Board claimed the cats were not kittykinds and that I was never authorized to take them to my vet. The one letter authorizing vet care was rescinded while the cat still needed treatment. I have documents that support what I have written and tapes proving conversations they claim were never had. I am still in debt to my vet for over $1,000. I had a website with the whole story but must relaunch it as it was not a permanent site.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Read reviews in Yelp and you'll find a few people who have received bites; misrepresentation of cat's health and personalities and you'll see Kittykind's campaign to discredit them. I too have many instances of harassment by "friends of KittyKind"
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Change the entire Board of Directors and make sure that Honest, ethical people were elected by a totally objective entity (not mayor's alliance).
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
most of the volunteers were the ones who really cared about the animals and their kindness was often taken advantage of.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
it Would probably focus on how Board Members could get hefty salaries and then would use some of it for the cats.
Ways to make it better...
I had not trusted them and had made sure to get Foster Forms filled out and contracts signed every step of the way.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Developing honesty and empathy toward the people that they rely on to foster; adopt and support their organization.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I wish I had never met this group.
