Mission: Kendal at home, a nonprofit organization, offers a wide range of options designed to promote successful aging for members of diverse ages, lifestyles and financial means who want to remain in their own homes. Embracing kendal's unique set of values and practices, kendal at home fosters a unified spirit of community and collaboration within the organization and the field of aging. Kendal at home serves a need for coordinated home care and service which is less expensive than institutional care and provides therapeutic value to members who receive care at home. Kendal at home intends to reserve a portion of its operating revenue to fund deficits which arise as a result of non-paying or reduced fee members.
Programs: Kendal at home is responsible for the coordination of a broad range of services and supports for members in their homes with the goal of keeping them living independently for as long as feasible and practical. Some of the accomplishments for 2014 included: results from member satisfaction survey continue to demonstrate a very high level of satisfaction with kendal at home's care coordination services; the "at home" cost care model continues to be a lower cost model than other facility based models; kendal at home has been able to develop individual baseline wellness assessments, enhancing the member's health through various technologies, physical fitness sessions and innovative programs such as the brain fitness program. In addition, kendal at home provides educational forums to members as well as the community at large and serves as a resource on aging matters for public advocacy. Kendal at home was launched in 2004 and has been able to provide services to over 251 seniors in 12 counties in northern ohio over the last ten years. Launched several prevention and wellness programs focused on supporting the healthy aging initiative. Utilized innovation technology solutions in the delivery of care in the members' homes. Provides guidance and training to other providers in the field of aging services to promote best practices and efficient models of care. Has been a leader in providing specific dementia care training to care givers and home healthcare agencies in northern ohio.
