Reviews for Kang Wen Clinic
My name is Sherry Callaghan. I am 58 years old. I was referred to the Kang Wen clinic through my doctor at Highline Medical Center. I am an insulin dependant diabetic with isulin resistance sydrome. I am in chronic pain and have been diagnosed as having fibromyalsia sydrome. I also have chronic bronchitis and allergies which cause me to have periodic severe asthma attacks. I am on medication for hypertension. I have sleep apnea and I am struggling to recover from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. As a result of this complicated medical history I have had to resign myself to Social Security Disability in order to have medical assistance through Medicare. Unfortunatley, medicare does not recognize the amazing quality and value of alternative medicine so up until I discovered the Kang Wen clinic, I could not afford accupuncture. My first appointment at the clinic found me sobbing uncontrollably because I had been unable to find parking. The receptionist (Doug) was so patient and calming, I will never forget his kindness. I was amazed at how welcome I was made to feel. I have not ever experienced the loving compassion I felt from the acupuncturists who worked with me over the next two years. At first, I was concerned about not having the same acupuncturist every time. However, I was soon to discover that each of them had their own strengths and areas of expertise. I also dicovered that every person that gave me a treatment made me feel like I was being cared for with great tenderness and compassion. As a direct result of these treatments, I am experiencing a quality of life I have not had for over two decades! My diabetes is under better control, thanks to the healing herbs prescribed by one of my acupuncturists. My asthma attacks have become less severe and less frequent since I have been drinking a special herb tea prescribed by another acupuncturist. My chronic pain from the fibromyalsia is now at a level of 3-4 istead of a 7-8. I am sleeping well and the PTSD is more manageable. I am grateful beyond words for the wonderful experience and treatments I have received from the Kang Wen Clinic. I sincerly hope that funding will become available to keep this program alive. For those of us in society that are unable to receive quality heatlthcare a service such at that offered by Kang Wen is valuable beyond my wildest dreams. It is apalling to me when I think of the money that is spent every day on people's pets and that there are human beings that cannot afford to manage their health because they cannot afford the high cost of medical treatments and health insurance. I hope you will view this testimonial as an affirmation of just how valuable the services at Kang Wen are in improving quality of life and health to the clients that are served there. Thank you for reading this and any efforts that you put forth to keep this valuable service available to clients like mayself.
