The mission is to educate the public,


Maintain collections, exhibits and research functions of the johnson county historical society museum in coralville, ia. Manage and interpret three historical areas: plum grove historic home, the 1855 johnson county poor farm and asylum in iowa city, ia and the 1876 schoolhouse in coralville, ia.

open temporary exhibits which (1) educated the public on the meaning of being a minority member in historical times and today (2) showcased combat papers(the artistic craetions by armed services members created from the pulped product of former military uniforms.

host educational programs which support thye mission of the organization; history on the road programs, third thursday speaker programs, annual barn tour, little school on the prairie summer camps, annual prairie walk and annual meting with educational programs.
