Mission: To ensure the continuity and well being of the jewish community in western ma, israel and the world by teaching the values of torah (jewish learning), klal yisrael (responsibility to each other), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (justice, righteousness and philanthropy). The federation, together with its worldwide partners, educates, advocates for, and supports the jewish community locally and worldwide by planning and evaluating strategically, raising and allocating funds and developing, inspiring and providing leadership.
Programs: Raise funds to support vital educational and social service programs for people in need. Also, offers a wide range of high quality services that involve jewish education and culture as well as community relations including the israel desk activities and israel emissaries. Creates vibrant jewish life in the community.
since 1992, rachel's table's mission has been to alleviate hunger in western massachusetts and to reduce waste of our food resources. Our volunteers collect extra food 6 days a week from local supermarkets, restaurants, caterers and bakeries and distribute it to more than 40 agencies including local soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters. Seasonally, a gleaning program rescues high quality produce from local farms that otherwise would go to waste.
the jewish endowment foundation (jef) provides planned giving opportunities to individuals and provides funding for many jewish agencies as well as non-jewish, non-profit agencies.
