Founded in 1973 by Rachel Robinson, JRF serves as an advocate for young people with the greatest need. JRF assists increasing numbers of minority youths through the granting of scholarships for higher education. The Foundation strives to assure that the legacy of Jackie Robinson's activism and commitment to social justice will be carried forth in the personal, community and institutional lives of these people as they assume leadership roles throughout society. *JRF provides mentoring and college scholarships of up to $7,000 per year to deserving students. JR scholars attend the four-year accredited, school of their choice. *This academic year, 251 scholars at 86 of the most prestigious colleges and universities across this nation received $1.4 million in scholarship support from JRF. *More than 1,000 students have been awarded scholarship support. *Our scholars have an impressive graduation rate of 97%--the highest among comparable programs in the country!
