my name is Dennis J I'm so over whelmed I don't know where to start !!! first of all I like to give a BIGGGGGGGGGGGG thanks JT foundation and MS Carmen are the best , I been trying to get this chair for 2 years almost with my old chair totally out of commission I had to use an manual that's totally uncomfortable with me being a rather tall person . JT foundation stayed on top of everything and updated me on the process . it was a big blessing to not worry no longer knowing my chair is on the way in the making . ill definitely recommend the foundation and ill post another review and pictures when it arrives thank you again JT foundation sooooooooooooooo much .
When I heard the news that JT Townsend Foundation would be able to help my adult child get a wheel chair . I was at work and tears just fell from my eyes. I thank god and then I thank his Foundation and Ms. Carmen , for caring about some who is disable and really need help. My son now don't have to suffer in a broken wheelchair . I am so thankful I learned from my son about your foundation may God bless
I am SO thankful for JT and his vision of helping out children and families like mine. I can finally go to the grocery store with all 5 children and not have to worry about a big heavy wheelchair. We went in to get fitted for a new wheelchair only to find put we weren't due for one for another few years. But the physical therapist got us in touch with the JTTF and within a matter of a few months we received the new stroller. I love that I no longer have to hurt my back with a heavy stroller and most importantly, wyatt is comfortable. I can not thank you enough Carmen for all of the dedication you have put into this dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
My name is Lamont Walker and I was injured while playing football in one of my old friends’ front yard. I was paralyzed in 1997 so when I heard about JT's injury I immediately felt a connection to him. I prayed for him and his family to have the courage to accept what had happened and the strength to move forward. Needless to say, my prayers were answered and they have moved forward to inspire and to help others through JT's life.
His foundation is an extension of who JT was when I had met him several years ago. He was interested in whom I was and willing to help me in any way that he could. This is why I knew that I could contact his foundation and expect to receive help. I purchased a van this year but I needed a little assistance with insurance and maintenance; therefore, I did not hesitate to reach out to the JT Townsend Foundation.
I filled out the application for assistance and Judith e-mailed me the same day. I was surprised how promptly they responded to my request but then again it is JT's foundation. In the e-mail she told me that I would receive a phone call from someone who works with the foundation and little did I know that it would be JT's mother. Ms. Carmen is one of the nicest person that I have ever met and she is representing JT very well. She was very concerned about my needs just like JT and she along with the foundation did something about it.
I am now riding in my van!
Thanks to everyone at the JT Townsend Foundation! Blessings on you all!!!
Thanks to the JT Townsend Foundation, My son who has Cerebral Palsy and is wheelchair bound, can now be comfortable in a cushioned, tilted stroller with a overhead cover to block him from the sun when he goes to doctors appointments and on our walks to grandmas house. Carmen is a pleasure to talk to and they foundation was very prompt.
The JTTF has been instrumental in assisting the pediatric special needs population in Jacsonville. They have provided medical car seats, gait trainers, positioning chairs and medical strollers to children and families with grace and compassion. The JTTF understands that these items are not "luxury items" as the insurance companies often state. The JTTF also assists caregivers in sharing equipment that their child has outgrown through their communuty Facebook page.
When insurance left us with a very large bill for my sons wheelchair the JTTF stepped in and took care of it. I couldn't say enough kind words about them and their staff. The heart of JT shows through in what they do. Thank you, and you guys are the best.
My son Dylan was born with a congenital heart defect, and also had a stroke at the age of 2, which left him with severe disabilities. When we were struggling with providing the care he needed, JT Townsend stepped right in and helped us get through our hurdle and come out the other side shining! This is an amazing organization that makes you feel like family..I could never thank them enough for their selflessness. They are truly a gift from God.
JT Townsend Foundation was there for my family when no one else was. Three years ago, my husband, who suffers from a spinal cord injury and is wheelchair bound, was in the hospital. We weren't sure at the time of he was going to make it or not. Needless to say, I was missing a lot of work and the bills were still coming in. A friend told me about this foundation so I reached out to them to see if they may be able to help us with our rent for the month. Less than 48 hours later, Judy and Kelly had the check mailed out to me not only for my rent, but with extra for groceries. When I spoke with them, I could not stop crying because I was so relieved. My husband went to Brooks Rehab shortly after and I was able to return to work. I can never thank them enough for helping my family stay afloat during such a difficult time.
