These properties are marketed specifically to owner occupied buyers who qualify as low to moderate income according to hud guidelines. Approximately 75 homes were sold to qualified buyers during 2014.
the housing league also acquires properties which are to be rented to low to moderate income tenants. In 2014 the housing league purchased 59 properties specifically for this program. Two homes and six vacant lots were donated to the organization during the year for this purpose. 24 homes were rented during 2014. Additional housing will be constructed for this purpose in future years. The timeline for new construction is based on economics and market conditions which were not favorable in 2014 for new construction activity.
the housing league is also provided support by the florida department of management services in the form of discounted construction equipment, machinery and vehicles. The housing league repairs and/or renews the equipment for use within the organization.
