I am a registered nurse in the area and have volunteered with this organization over the past 5 years. As a RN, I greatly respect the quality of care provided by this non profit. The staff in this organization works tirelessly toward patient care regardless of daily distractors, patients always come first. This organization has great ideas and plans to improve patient/family care but lacks funding to implement wonderful programs that would greatly benefit patients and families in our community.

More Feedback

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Listening to the patient and families recount their experience with Hospice of Montgomery. I personally have not had a family member cared for but have referred many friends and have heard very positive feedback.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

As a not-for-profit the organization lacks dispensable income to purchase electronic medical records, computers for each nurse, software packages etc to allow for the highest and best use of nursing pay hours

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The quality of care this organization provides is far and above any other organization I have encountered, including local hospitals

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Board Members, Volunteer Staff, Paid Staff in all areas

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Technologically integrate office and train staff, build a community education building to host individual and group counseling for all ages, a van to transport children to the center for grief counseling, as parents are often working and cant bring them.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to lend getting involved to help the organization become more technically progresive.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of integration of current technology. Lack of funding for new programs

One thing I'd also say is that...

If this organization had more funding from the community and foundations it could develop educational community programs to promote an understanding of the end of life process and decrease needless suffering which resluts in increased medicare costs.

This organization is the oldest in the state capital of its name. There are increasingly numerous competing for profits challengers to their service.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I was a family member beneficiary of services from this organization. From 2000 until 2002 my wife was under the care of this hospice. Our nurse, primary aide and numerous volunteers were especially helpful caregivers. I've been a donor and a volunteer

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

There is still no specific hospice facility for on-site respite care in our city. There has been a plan for nearly a decade or more, progress lags. I would schedule performance audits by an independent, efficacy consultant.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

meeting the dedicated and committed staff members who have direct patient contact daily.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

A broad range from director, volunteers, aides, nurses, counselor and chaplain - mostly professional and competent.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build the kind of complete facility we need here, similar to the outstanding one in Lancaster, PA

Ways to make it better...

Our time was much longer than the average patient experience; we were not typical and saw staff changes, etc.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

competition from local and nearby profit oriented companies

One thing I'd also say is that...
