HEAL was started by Lauren Daniels after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35. I am her mother and as most mothers I myself being a breast cancer survivor was beside myself with worry. I knew that she was a strong young women with 3 children and I could run interference to help her and her husband get thru this emotional time in their lives. She called me about 3 months after her surgeries and told me she had this idea and calling to start this non- profit and did I feel that there were other mom's who could use the help and support that she had thru family and friends and they may not have. I immediately told her to look into what she could do to help and with that she was off and running. I have been a founding board member and till this day 13 year later still sit on the board and continue to support the great work that Lauren does with the support of her husband as well as her children. She is a great inspiration to her father and myself and a go getter. There is no one and nothing that stands in her way when she wants to achieve a goal. I cannot tell you how proud we her family are of her and know we will continue to see this great resource for the community grow.
I would like to nominate HEAL for the outstanding community service that this organization provides to the mothers in our community with dependents living at home going through Cancer treatment. Not only do they financially aid with co pays, electric, rent medication but they also have a Healing House where our director has a monthly open house with a program for the families to enjoy. The pantry director opens the pantry monthly to help ensure that the mothers can have the staples they need to keep their family fed properly. The founder herself saw the need for this type of support after being diagnosed at the age of 35 with Breast Cancer and had to look after 3 young children ages 11, 8 and 1. I strongly recommend that HEAL be considered for any donations to help continue the much needed support to this community.
I have nothing but positive experiences with HEAL! My daughter was sick with Glioblastoma Multiforme (the worst type of brain cancer) for 91/2 years and the Happily Ever After League was there for her everyday of her survival. She spoke at there events and was the most positive person regarding her disease.. The HEAL house was very responsible for her positive outlook. Thank you Lauren Daniels and your wonderful group of volunteers! You were great friends to Deni and I cherish every moment we all got to be together. Hugs to everyone on this great team of women! Love you all!
Lauren and everyone else at HEAL showed amazing compassion, love, generosity, and kindness to me and my daughter during my breast cancer recovery. I cannot even put it into words. Super amazing people, and I met wonderful women who encouraged each other there too.
H.E.A.L. was so quick in responding to my request for assistance. I was so surprised and thankful! During this time of treatment after the whole ordeal of being diagnosed with breast cancer and going through the steps to surgery and raising a young child, I couldn't think clearly. I was blessed when I came across this great organization. I was treated with compassion and welcomed into their organization with open arms. We were invited to a Pumpkinfest and that was truly a fun experience for my daughter and I both. I am eternally thankful for Lauren and everyone else at H.E.A.L.
It was great to be with women who knew how I felt and for my daughter to have fun and see others in same situations as us, happy.
The HEALing House provides wonderful, happy memories for the moms and their families. Along with fun filled events, there is also a food pantry open to the moms to shop.
My daughter and I have had the pleasure of volunteering at HEAL for many years. HEAL offers loving support for mothers and their families dealing with cancer through emotional comfort, financial assistance, a food pantry, back to school program and holiday celebrations. It is evident and so heartwarming to witness that being a part of the HEAL community means that a mother and her family are never alone in coping with cancer.
The Happily Ever After League headed by the amazing Lauren Daniels is just incredible. Lauren keeps giving and never stops. The work she selflessly does for the hundreds of women throughout the years makes me cry each time I read one of their stories. The teas she puts on year after year grew from a little charming tea in a backyard to a elegant fantasy full blown event that is sold out at a five star hotel now that raises thousands of dollars for this truly amazing totally non profit organization that is so unbelievable. You just have to visit the house and Lord Hamilton, the adorable mini piglet that is the Goodwill Ambassador! He is just darling.
I began volunteering for the Happily Ever After League, (HEAL), in 2009. Almost immediately I came to understand just how this organization has shown the compassion and care given to women suffering from cancer, and their families. HEAL has lessened the burden for its recipients by subsidizing a medical bill, a utility payment, or rent. It has brought comfort to these families by providing a safe and nurturing environment at the Healing House where recipients and their families can meet and enjoy activities throughout the year such as Easter Egg Hunts, a Thanksgiving Day Feast, Christmas Fun, Mom's Pampering Day, to name a few. HEAL also provides a Pantry with food and other necessities.
I have seen how HEAL has touched the lives of so many in our communities and brought joy into the lives of those suffering from this disease. I am proud to volunteer for such a worthy organization and continue to see it expand its outreach.
The Happily Ever After League provides a safe haven for their moms through the Healing House. I love this organization!
Heal helps mothers undergoing cancer treatment. The organization has helped many women both financially and emotionally through the Healing House. It is very easy to volunteer with Heal. They have opportunities to help with their fund raising events and also at the Healing House. The house has a food pantry and it is easy to volunteer by dropping off food items or having a food drive. The Heal family is a very caring family!
I have volunteered and donated to this nonprofit for many years now. I have also had friends call the Happily Ever After League for advice and help after their own cancer diagnosis. Lauren and her team are compassionate, encouraging, and truly are making a difference in these women's lives.
