Established in 1978, the Greenwood School is an ungraded, pre-preparatory boarding school for bright boys, ages 10-13 at the time of admittance, with dyslexia or a related language disability. Greenwood uses innovative approaches to help students bridge the gap between their potential and their present achievement. Through successful learning experiences, students master both academic and social skills. Enrollment is 40. Class sizes range from 2-10 students, with an average student-teacher ratio of 3:1. All students participate in language tutorials that remediate weaknesses while striving to help them develop their strengths. Art, drama, wood and metal working, and sports programs enable students to discover and refine their creative abilities.
