The mission of the Gift of Swimming is to provide access to drowning prevention resources and education which includes swim training for the community’s underprivileged, mentally or physically challenged or otherwise disadvantaged.

It is our vision to create "Healthy Kids" by enriching the lives of those who would never be able to afford high-quality swim lessons through physical fitness and nutrition education. By offering swim lessons, we save their lives with survival skills.  By teaching healthy eating, we promote lifestyle changes for children that are at high risk for obesity.
The goal of the Gift of Swimming scholarship program is to increase the number of skilled swimmers in Central Florida.  Secondary goals are to produce healthier bodies with the physical fitness that swimming has to offer.
The swimming scholarships provided by The Gift of Swimming help save lives while helping children become more physically fit, healthy and socially mature. The community as a whole benefits when children learn team skills and good decision-making.

I have worked with The Gift of Swimming since 2003. It has been inspiring to watch each disadvantaged or special needs child learn to swim. Swimming is essential for keeping children safe around the water. The Gift of Swimming provides full scholarships to those who qualify to learn the life saving skill of swim-float-swim. It is amazing to see the self confidence and strength of each participant grow as they become more skilled. I encourage you to consider making The Gift of Swimming the recipient of your charitable giving.

They are professional, patient and very experienced in teaching swimming. We were very pleased that they could teach our girls water survival skills.
