Gettlove is a nonprofit organization founded by Aileen Getty in 2005 that secures permanent housing for chronically homeless individuals in Hollywood and provides supportive services thereafter to assure their housing is sustained. Gettlove believes in cultivating an enhanced community that embraces and sustains its most vulnerable residents.
Gettlove is committed to providing these services through a companionship model, whereby the case manager and client navigate the complex journey out of homelessness together. The relationship developed between the client and case manager along the way is an essential component of Gettlove’s ability to share in each client’s challenges and joys of continuing to maintain a home. The Gettlove staff helps secure interim and permanent housing, and continues to work with each client throughout the entire transition process, providing personalized services. These services range, depending on the individual needs of the client, and often include transcendental meditation, which helps to relieve stress and can support the reintegration process for formerly homeless individuals.
Gettlove further strives to be both a catalyst and a model within the community through innovation, the development and utilization of best practices, and by facilitating opportunities for collaboration. Gettlove hopes to demonstrate the power of relationships, the importance of instilling a sense of belonging in every member of the community, and the effectiveness of permanent housing.
Gettlove measures success by improvements in quality of life for clients and for the community. The sustainable, long-term well being of clients, and the Hollywood community as a whole, is Gettlove’s first priority.
