Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Answer phones; work with seniors or youth; start a hobby/interest group; do advocacy work; attend one of our interest groups.

Mission:

The mission of The Gay & Lesbian Community Services Center of Orange County is to provide services to ensure the physical, psychological, and social well being of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and HIV/AIDS affected community. These services include activities intended to foster community respect, understanding, and acceptance of gender, cultural diversity, and sexual orientation.

Results:

We are at an exciting time in our history. Our programs are multiplying and we are serving more and more people. Recently, we have added Senior Services, Adoption and Fostercare adoption services, and more youth services. We intend to increase our programming for families with children and to offer more educational and cultural programming.

Almost 30 yrs ago my partner came to the Center afraid with no where in the OC to turn. He joined the youth group and found friends and folks like him to empower his coming out.
