Reviews for Frisky Ferrets, Fuzzies, & Feathered Friends Rescue & Sanctuary (F5rs)
These guys are absolutely amazing! They care so much about their rescues and volunteers: way more than any other rescue I've ever seen! I love them and their organization. I always look forward to my volunteer days with them and their buns!
F5RS is an amazing small animal rescue and sanctuary run by an amazing group of people. There is no better place to adopt your new small and furry or feathered family member from. They are very knowledgable and willing to share their knowledge to help adopters better care for their new pets. They also do a ton of community outreach and education projects. Just a great group!!
Essentially one of the best rescues for bunnies and birds.
I love this rescue dearly. The owner of f5rs is the most caring woman in the world and would do anything for her bunnies.
I am a volunteer, board member and the treasurer but as of Jan 2015 I became an adopter from F5RS! I adopted two guinea pigs. I was a first time guinea pig momma but felt totally prepared. Sassy provided me with books and sources for other info to learn more about guinea pigs. I was able to help take care of them and handle them which helped me decide which two were the perfect ones for me! I was able to ask questions about what supplies I needed. The rescue has helped me with pet sitting when I'm gone and help with grooming needs. I have bought treats and toys for them from F5RS's own store. It has the been a very positive adopting experience and the pigs are very spoiled!

I'm proud to be able to say I'm a friend, volunteer and board member of F5RS. Daily, I see the wonderful work this rescue does for rabbits, birds, and small animals. Some of these creatures are unadoptable but will safely and happily live out their life in the sanctuary. Animals are spayed or neutered, trained and socialized before being adopted out which makes them a wonderful pet for a pre-approved family to take home. F5RS is active in the community including visits using their therapy bunny teams, providing various classes, education at different venues, fundraising and selling items through craft shows, flea markets, their online stores and their newly opened store in the rescue. F5RS has been able to help out in many emergency situations such as hording cases, helping families in crisis and taking in special needs animals other rescues could not provide for. F5RS has recently become a 501(c)3 and is always looking for volunteers, monetary donations, donations of supplies (including NEWSPAPERS) and donations of items that can be resold to raise money for the rescue.

Volunteer staff fully committed to the well being of all the animals in their care. Truly exceptional efforts put forth.
These bunnies have it made! Everyone who works with this organization is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of the rescued animals. Every effort is taken to place adoptable animals in homes with responsible, loving caregivers, but before that happens this organization offers them attentive care well beyond what one might expect. I hadn't seen a therapy bunny program before they started theirs. It seems to be doing good things for people in the Youngstown area so kudos!
Genuinely care about the animals they work with and make the effort to place them in caring homes. The work they do with the therapy buns is amazing and makes a huge difference in a lot of people's lives. Can't say enough wonderful things about this organization.
They are so giving of care and love to each fur baby or animal in their care. Every case is given time and attention, even last minute emergencies. They stopped and answer all my questions. They relieved my anxiety and very so calming and gentle with the bun.
I cannot say enough good things about F5RS. The amazing work they do with rescuing and rehoming small animals such as bunnies and guinea pigs is heroic. What makes them different from so many other rescues is they go out of their way to be self-sufficient. They run an on-line store, do flea marketing and craft shows to raise money to support their efforts. In addition, they do therapy work through their "Bunnies in Baskets" certified therapy buns. These specially trained rabbits visit nursing homes, adult workshops and autistic children. Sassy Pickard and her board members are tireless in their efforts. Please help them help others through this rescue and sanctuary.
I have known F5RS for over 3 years now. Sassy, the director, and her volunteers work tirelessly to provide the best in care for their rescues. Whether bird, bunny, degu or ferret, all animals are loved and cared for. Those who cannot be rehomed due to illness or behavior can live their lives in gentle sanctuary. F5 struggles to be self-supporting. They do not depend on donations to survive, but donations would certainly help make their efforts easier. I heartily recommend F5 RS to anyone looking for a pet or looking for a charity they can support without question.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
