I am honored to be the board chair of Friends of Ofanim and partner with my Israeli "brother" Haim Dahan and Israel’s leading business people on this innovative project. When you consider the situation in Israel's periphery, and how these kids need more resources for education, Haim's idea is really quite brilliant. If the solution requires you to think differently, you change the paradigm. Ofanim is that game changer. Mobile labs drive the best education Israel has to offer right to its poorest communities.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the remote village in Israel. We're getting AWESOME feedback from parents, school officials and government officials. Everybody wants to be involved in this, including many of Israel's leading philanthropists.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing how excited people are when I share Ofanim’s mission, vision and impact. Using innovation and technology to strengthen our greatest resource in Israel, our children’s future, is a goal that’s bringing a lot of different people together.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the best of the best. Like every great leader, Haim Dahan attracts the most committed, the most professional and the most effective people to manage and run Ofanim.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue to change the face of Israel’s education and the way we use technology and innovation to bridge economic gaps in the 21st century.

As the first full-time Director for Friends of Ofanim, it has been my pleasure to work with an outstanding board of directors, and great partners in Israel to continue to develop this brilliant idea - mobile labs that literally drive education - into the nonprofit powerhouse I know we are becoming.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

visiting the small and remote moshavim we serve. The children, many of whom lack the resources to broaden their education past the school day, light up when the buses roll into their communities and their role models invite them aboard.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with an outstanding group of board member on such an important mission.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the most professional I have met to date. These folks are always concerned with evaluation and creating more impact in the communities Ofanim serves.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

buy 25 more buses, and reach every single child in Israel's periphery. The poorest of kids in Israel would be given the same opportunities as their urban and more affluent counterparts.

I am a Board member of Friends of Ofanim, and was introduced to this amazing organization by Rick. The concept struck me as brilliant and simple.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Ofanim really makes a difference in the lives of the kids it serves. Hearing the founder, Haim Dahan, talk about how thrilled parents and children are to participate is very gratifying;the children we serve are poor and in the most remote areas of Israel.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Ofanim's staff is bright, energetic, creative and dedicated. Friends of Ofanim has only one employee, who is enormously talented and very efficient.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

buy 25 more buses and reach thousands more children. These kids would learn to speak English; hone their math and science skills and explore their artistic talents. We would love to bring more buses to more kids, more frequently.

I met Haim Dahan, the founder, and became enthralled with the organization. My firm helped set up Friends of Ofanim in the US, and has helped introduce people to this cause since its beginning. By helping children in the poorest areas of Israel get supplemental education, Ofanim gives them the same opportunities that are available in the big cities to children with much greater resources. And we do it at a very low cost per child. Ofanim makes a huge difference in Israel!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Israel in a village in the deep Negev, near Gaza. I mete the students, and saw them learning on the buses. They literally ran to great the bus when it pulled into their small schoolyard. They were extremely happy!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Nothing needs to be changed except the ability to raise more money.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Nearly all of the money goes to creating buses and keeping them in operation. The organization uses students at nearby universities to teach on the buses, thus helping them learn how to give back as well.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Extraordinary. All very committed, and all working for very little money to help these children learn.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Educate every poor child in Israel and give them opportunities that they could never have imagined.

Ways to make it better...

My experience couldn't have been better, unless I was actually living in Israel and working directly with these children.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Raising enough money to reach all of the children in the poorest parts of Israel. the only limit to their success is the ability to raise money in the US and Israel, and other parts of the wrold.

One thing I'd also say is that...
