Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid

Mission: To support quality of life improvements for the disadvantaged. To financially assist individuals and organizations in our community which enhance education, family, health, economic empowerment and the arts.

Programs: Strands of elegance cotillion: friends for life foundation in partnership with alpha kappa alpha sorority incorporated, phi phi omega chapter has a cotillion fundraiser every two years. The program is designed to highlight academic achievement by celebrating the accomplishments of young ladies that are high school juniors/seniors, and preparing them for success in our dynamic and diverse society. We believe the debutante experience can generate a return to past values, create a greater focus on friendship, social consciousness, poise and etiquette. The debutante experience culminates with the cotillion ball.

pearl grants: awarded annually to various local non-profit community organizations. Grants are solicited in the spring and awarded in november. Presented $12,000 in grants to nine heart of giving recipients including partners against domestic violence, the drake house, uncf, and six local non-profits in 2014. Also, ppo pearl grants of $1885 were given in 2014. 2014 afrika amos scholarship - $1000

breakfast with santa: festive holiday event where families come to eat breakfast, make crafts, take pictures with santa, and make christmas gifts. Two families were sponsored in 2014. The event is open to the public.

This organization was created by Theresia Carrington to be the non-profit arm of Phi Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Fundraising includes individual donations and corporate sponsorships, as well as organizational fundraising activities. The signature fundraiser is a biennial cotillion. Funds from the organization will be used to provide scholarships and to benefit local and national charities that support the goals and aspirations of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
