Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: help us coordinate our boat outings; help in the office; assist in fundraising; volunteer in our special events; be a mentor; be a FWF boat host; donate time on your vessel to share with others.

Programs: FWF Weller Day Boat Outings - Private and Commercial boat owners donate their time and vessels to provide an outing for FWF participants;

Adaptive Sailing in Naples, Florida, in partnership with Collier County Parks and Recreation, teaching people with disabilities how to sail as independently as possible for each individual.

Fishing outings and fun tournaments for FWF participants.

Special events: Sailing Regattas, Boat Parade Parties; Fishing Tournaments for FWF participants

Mission:
Enhancing lives by providing boating opportunities and marine related activities for people with disabilities, life threatening illnesses, youth at risk and others with special needs.
Results:
Since incorporation in March 2006, FWF has served well over 6000 individuals between the two south coasts of Florida. Accomplished by 99% volunteer efforts and one part time paid employee.

Making smiles and memories that last a lifetime and building a family of belonging, caring and sharing!

Even before Freedom Waters was a nonprofit I called Deb Frenkel to get information about Adapted Sailing because we wanted to start a program in Traverse City Michigan. I have volunteered for FreedomWaters Foundation several times, and every outing or event runs smoothly and is well organized.It's usually "the smiles on the faces"of the participants that confirm the efficacy of something as simple as a couple of hours in a boat on the water.
