Address:

3550 23rd Avenue South, Suite 7 Lake Worth FL 33461 USA

Mission:

Forgotten Soldiers Outreach (“FSO”) is a non-profit organization that require donations, care package items and letters of encouragement in order to provide support to our deployed service members and their families serving in the United States Military. Our main focus is to reach those with our monthly “We Care” packages who receive little or no support from the home front. We aim to send “that little bit of home” to assure they are not forgotten. Forgotten Soldiers Outreach is committed to our U.S. servicemen and women in all world theaters, for as long as they are deployed. In 2013, we extended our mission to offer support to our returning soldiers in need and our veterans in need who have recently transitioned via programs into living on their own. FSO Furniture & Thrift Store assists with providing free furnishings and household items to fit their needs.

Results:

Since our inception in 2003, we have benefited over 350,000 of our military, covering ALL world theaters and ALL branches of the military via our "We Care" Packages. Since we opened our FSO Furniture & Thrift Store in 2013, we have benefited over 120 Military Veteran families in need throughout Palm Beach County by providing them with Free Furniture and household items and necessities. These families have recently been homeless and have transitioned through programs into their own homes.

Target demographics:

bring support to our troops serving overseas and our veterans at the homefromt

Direct beneficiaries per year:

Over 6,000 "We Care" packages were shipped benefiting minimum of 18,000 or more of our military deployed overseas! Plus our store benefited over 50 military veteran families at the homefront.

Geographic areas served:

communities throughout the country and the military throughout the country

Programs:

Monthly "We Care" packages prepared and sent to our troops overseas, covering ALL world theaters and ALL branches of the military. FSO is always educating the public of the importance of our troops, community involvement and ways to help our mission. We are always in need of Donated Care Package items, Letters of encouragement (We have an educators link on website under Help dropdown), Volunteers and Funds !!! Our thrift store that was opened last year accepts gently used items for us to generate funds for our mission, and to also be able to provide FREE furniture and household items to many of our homeless veterans who have recently transitioned and have received housing.

For some time i had been trying to find a way to write notes to soldiers. I had sent letters out on my own to another group who would then send them along to some one some where. However, with this site, i really feel sure that my letter will actually get to a soldier who really might want and need the mail. Since i started writing last year i have sent at least 5 letters. I go on the site and i can see the thanks and pictures from the men and women who receive the letters and care packages. It is great to know that my letters are being sent, and to see the faces and read the words and be able to know i might have made a tiny difference for one of them. I don't need the thanks, but i like to know that the ones who serve us are getting what we send. I was fortunate enough to have enough extra money this year that i was able to donate a little, and just knowing that a smile is out there because someone got cookies, or deodorant, or a razor, or something they need fills my heart. This is one of the best organizations i have ever seen. I just wrote another letter before writing this review, and i am so happy to say i will continue to write as often as i can, thanks to this great crew who works tirelessly to get our troops the things they need from home. They are doing a wonderful job and i am proud to be able to use their site and to have donated to them this year.

This organization goes above and beyond to serve our military overseas and at home! It is extremely rewarding to take part in the packing events and making donations. The response from the recipients is outstanding. I am so proud of Lynelle and her crew for their hard work and determination to make sure we all never forget OUR soldiers and all that they do!

What this organization does is provide hope and joy to the armed forces serving in the worst places and conditions imaginable. A care package is so much more than what is inside the box, but it represents home and when you are surrounded by combat and death/destruction it gives you a momentary relief from the chaos and reminds you that there is more than the horrible circumstances you find yourself in. I was in the Marine Corps for 13 years until medically retired due to being wounded in combat, and I received many care packages and the impact that it has on you in that moment is worth its weight in gold! I volunteered for a few events with Forgotten Soldiers Outreach and was so moved by this organization and the amazing work that they do that I am now on the board of directors and supporting this organization every way that I can.

There is no true way, in words, to describe the feeling one gets when they receive a care packages from FSO. Maybe Christmas morning comes close. My soldiers and I were recipients of FSO packages during OIF 2010, and am amazed at the kindness, love and attention to detail put into each package. Some packages were the only mail some of my soldiers received during deployment. Can you imagine.

I want you to close your eyes and imagine being alone, in a strange place far away from home, no comforts of home, and not knowing if you will ever see home again and not getting letters or packages from home during mail call. How are you feeling after imagining this scenario. Now imagine receiving a care package from FSO.

Yes we have email, Skype, Facebook and other social media... Mail call is special, getting a letter or package from home is a morale booster. Telling us someone cares and appreciates what our military personnel are doing and sacrificing for our country. FSO packages fills this empty void one can feel especially in a combat zone.

Thank you FSO for loving and helping to remind all of our military personnel someone back home loves and cares about us and thanking us for our service and sacrifice to our great nation.

I love the pay it forward packages in the primary boxes. No one gets left out of mail call.

Love and graditude to Lynelle, Jennelle, volunteers and sponsors that are involved in FSO.

Excellent organization that provides care packages to deployed military service members. Forgotten Soldiers outreach is not a "bloated" non-profit with highly paid staff. Monies raised go towards shipping the monthly packages and package contents are donated by members of the community. They have been serving the troops since 2013!

I have been a volunteer for FSO for many years. I am amazed at the outpouring of support for this organization, from the number of people who volunteer to help pack care packages, maintain our warehouse of donated goods, to schools that write letters to our soldiers and to all the volunteers who work long hours at fundraisers to raise funds to send the care packages. Our recipients, many who don't get any packages from home, are so grateful for what we do!

This organization helped me and my deployed son when I couldn't send what he needed or what his Unit wanted. They didn't ask questions other than the normal security questions which are APPRECIATED...but they stepped up and helped an entire unit!!!!
