Faith Comes By Hearing is dedicated to making the Gospel of Jesus Christ available to people of all nations, tribes, and tongues through Audio Bible recordings and listening groups.  We provide Scriptures in audio form because over 70% of the world''s population are oral communicators and do not-or cannot-use the printed word in their daily lives.  We give these Audio Scriptures free of charge to individuals and listening groups because more than half of the world lives in poverty and cannot afford Bibles.  As of January 2013, we offer Scripture recordings in over 700 languages, with more recordings added each month.

Faith Comes By Hearings Audio Bible indigenous language recording program produces word-for-word, multi-voice, dramatized audio recordings of the Bible, (primarily the New Testament), in different languages.  Faith Comes By Hearing works with various Bible translation organizations, obtaining their permission to record the translations.  Once we obtain permission, we assign the recording to one of the strategically located recording teams. The Audio New Testament is then recorded with dozens of indigenous speakers of the language and with constant word-for-word proofing and quality control procedures. After the field recording is completed, it is then mastered, edited, and made available free of charge for Bible listening.

Reviews for Faith Comes By Hearing

I have been donating to this ministry for well over a year.
They are great in communication back to me. Dollar for dollar this ministry reaches more people with the Gospel than any other. I have also used the solar powered Bibles they produce in Nepal, Sierra Leone Africa, and Ghana Africa. I only wish I could have taken more with me. Giving God's Word in the heart language is amazing!

I have visited the Faith Comes By Hearing Headquarters in Albuquerque, toured their facilities, reviewed their financials, and feel very comfortable supporting them on a regular basis.

I originally contacted this charity several years ago. I knew some missionaries that were helping to coordinate translation of Scripture into a people-group's "heart tongue on cassette tapes. Faith Comes by Hearing had a hand-cranked cassette player that was designed for use in low-technology areas. I was able to purchase and provide a few of the players for the project. After learning more about Hosanna/Faith Comes by Hearing my family decided to make routine contributions.

Though my contributions were relatively small (maybe $500 in a really good year) the organization provided excellent communication and ensured we were up-to-date on the activities and outreach. When my health failed and my family was unable to continue our small contributions, we were still provided full communication. Further, I have received several personal notes from staff members over the past years. In every case, I was encouraged and reminded that members of the Hosanna staff were continuing to pray for me.

My family's financial circumstances have changed as a result of a new job for my wife and this is the first organization that came to our minds as a deserving charity. We will be restarting our contributions immediately.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

We were able to provide non-affiliated missionaries with ruggedized, hand-powered cassette players for an unreached group. We were also able to directly provide Spanish-language Scripture cassette sets to missionaries in the Caribbean. Of course, that technology has long been replace by MP3 files and memory chips.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Encourage more involvement with traditional religious denominations for publicity and funding. It would need to be done in such a way, though, as to not allow undue influence from any particular group.

How likely is it that you would recommend that a friend donate to this group?

How likely are you to donate to this group again?

What specific problem, purpose, priority, or project prompted your gift?

My original donations were based on the availability of the hand-cranked cassette players.

Why did you make your donation at this time?

My financial circumstances have changed to allow me to contribute.

What would you tell others about this organization?

Provide a specific service for a very specific and important need. As it says in Matthew 4:3-4 (NIV) 'The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Hosanna is helping to provide access to that Word.
