Target demographics: Extremely poor children ranging in age from 3 to 25, during all stages of their education. We provide the children with reinforcement education services and critically needed health and nutrition programs. Additionally we serve their communities with parent education programs, teacher training workshops, and opportunities for entrepreneurship.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 6,500

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Volunteers are welcome to help sell Fabretto merchandise like baskets and jewelry from our cooperative programs, or they can host a NicaNight event or documentary screening for Fabretto.

Geographic areas served: Nicaragua

Mission:

Fabretto enables impoverished Nicaraguan children and their families in underserved communities to break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential through programs promoting nutrition, health, education, community and character development.

Results:

Fabretto currently supports approximately 6,500 children in Nicaragua through 6 centers and more than 30 public schools that are located in and near Managua and in the north of the country.

Over the past six years, I have been very pleased as a donor/volunteer with how each dollar is used by the Fabretto volunteers and the organization on the whole. I have worked as a volunteer with the Fabretto Foundation for the past 4 summers. I started coming down to teach Violin and Viola and then for the past 2 summers I worked as a translator for Volunteer groups. I have seen the change in the students over the 4 year period of time.
