The El Monte Xtreme grew out of a community need to provide a positive outlet for children to learn and experience cheerleading. The Xtreme cater to a low income community and many times, these children are in at-risk situation. In their first season they managed to capture National Championships in respected cheer circuits and have made a name for themselves in the local community. I was so impressed, that I decided to volunteer my time and be a part of this great organization. Even though I knew nothing about cheer, I've been able to help in many ways and I cherish the time I have with this organization. I wish the best for the El Monte Xtreme and wish them continued success.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my entire family has come to love this organization! My wife, my daughter and myself are all now a big part of the El Monte Xtreme.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

help them to find an indoor facility in which they can practice. For now, they are practicing on a school playground the the teams really deserve a place that they can call their own.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the level of commitment that each participant has to the organization. these young people understand that they are critical to the success of their teams and the organization. This is a trait that will get them far in life.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

willing to meet any and all challenges. The staff is there to ensure that every participant is getting the most out of their cheer experience.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

become the premier cheer organization in Southern California. I truly feel that the league would be able to expand to neighboring communities and create a network of teams all serving the same purpose.

Ways to make it better...

the organization is only in it's second year and it has some hurdles and bumps it needs to clear.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

finances. As I stated before, they service a low income area and it's hard to ask parent and even the local community to help sponsor the league when everyone is experiencing a financial crunch.

One thing I'd also say is that...

this organization is year to year at this point and the ability to continue comes down to finances. If there was a committed sponsor, the league could become a permanent community organization.

El Monte Xtreme is awesome. Awesome children, awesome coaches, awesome performances...Teams thrive and all are winners!! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS...it is an overall awesome experience.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

a positive manner. We do our best to work together as team.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

wish to have more children on each squad with lots of volunteers who are dedicated.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the children. Everything is all for the kids.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

and are dedicated volunteers.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build a building, gym, dance studio, and can cater to the children in our community. We would be able to make this sport affordable for those who can not join.

Ways to make it better...

This is a learning process for us all. As a new organization in it's second year we have been making those baby steps to making it all better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Raising funds for those who cannot afford to join. Raising funds to keep the cost down for families who are truely struggling.

One thing I'd also say is that...

WE ARE #1!!!!!!

The league is friendly and helpful to new cheerleaders and their families. They work hard to create a competitve, but fun and educational atmosphere. They coaches are great teachers and mentors, and always on the up and up with your child and with the parents about expectations and skill level.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The staff is friendly and helpful...they embody the spirit of teamwork and fun, and all function as educators of sportmanship, team and confidence building.
