Attached is a video of Ebony Sonshine Puppets performing their contemporary hip-hop rendition of the alphabet recital at our 2nd Annual Literacy Day Kickoff Evening Showcase Thursday, October 22nd at Greenbelt Middle School.
As the liaison for the promotion and celebration of literacy at Greenbelt Middle School, our goal has been to engage the community in motivating our students to promote and celebrate literacy. Ebony Sonshine Puppets has committed to partnering with Greenbelt Middle School to help us take our message and mission to the community of Greenbelt Elementary schools that feed into our middle school community. This initiative and partnership began in October 2015 (22nd) with our 2nd Annual Literacy Day Kickoff Evening Showcase 6:30pm-8:30pm in our multi-purpose room. Their contemporary hip-hop version of reciting the alphabet had our middle school students swaying and bopping to the rhythm of the music. I am excited with enthusiastic expectancy of continuing this partnership with plans to visit Springhill Lake Elementary during the school day for a literacy pep-rally that will include engaging the K-3 students with a puppet performance by Ebony Sonshine Puppets.
Great organization to be a apart of. This organization does great things in the community which we need more of.
Ebony Sonshine Inc. (ESI) is a wonderful non-profit organization and the best puppet ministry in the area. I am happy to be a board member of such a great organization. Keep up the good work ESI.
the program is very helpful and informative and i recommend anyone to look into it.
Well for the time that I was with Ebony Sonshine Inc it was pretty good and informative and helpful.
I met Ebony Sonshine, Inc. at an event in August of 2014 and I was very impressed with the puppet show they performed. After a lengthy conversation with one of the directors, I was very excited about being a part of ESI. I am an Educator, so when I was asked to be a part of their Life Development Division, I did not hesitate. It has been over a year now and working with the organization has been very fulfilling.
I have two teen-aged children of my own, so it feels good to be a part of something that is helping in the development of our youth.

I attended a couple of their fundraising functions and have seen serval of their ministry shows, reaching out to people of all ages...great organization!
I have been with Ebony Sonshine Inc (ESI) for over 15 years. It has been a delight in serving and performing for the community, church, and others. It is my prayer that ESI will receive resources and funding to continue their mission. They have touched many lives and have many great ideas to reach more young people in their unique and creativity way. However, they do need more serious volunteers (both adults and youth), which are willing to commit to the vision and mission of the organization. All the best to ESI.
If you have not invited Ebony Sonshine Puppets to participate during one of your events, you don't know what you're missing!!! They bring excitement and fun to everyone. We really enjoyed everything. We did a workshop with them and it was great. The children learned a little about puppetry and they allowed them to do a short song.
I saw the performance at Greenbelt Middle School. It was enjoyable and exciting.
