Programs: We're a fiscal sponsor organization. We enable individuals and groups, working together, to create and invest in projects that benefit the public. We do this by providing fiscal sponsorship and financial, human resources, and grants management services.

The Diabetes Hands Foundation was Model-C fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives for a number of months, during our 2009-2010 Fiscal Year. The service and value we received from the CI team was amazing! Since we first learned about them, I have done my best to promote their great work for Bay Area-based nonprofit projects, since more people need to know about this way to do good without having to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

two ways: through a project that we received a grant for, which was designated to be given to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; and through our fundraising campaign in September 2009.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
make their work known to as many people as possible. What they can do for groups seeking to help others, thinking that the only way is to become a 501(c)(3) could result in thousands of hours and dollars saved and more people getting helped sooner.

Phenomenal!!! From Prudy who rocks as an Office Manager to Ani who is amazing on-boarding and helping new projects learn the ropes all the way to Melanie, the CEO!
