Mission: --the community assistance center is a private nonprofit organization which assists offenders, ex-offender's offender's families, and youth involved with criminal justice system to assume full and productive membership in the community. The community assistance center works for the improvement of the criminal justice system through public information and education and the development of programs tailored to the needs of the people of hawaii. It is our goal to have a safer community .
Programs: The mission of sotp is community safety. The halawa portion of the sotp has an impressive success record. 98% of those inmates who sucessfully completed the program have not been convicted of a new sexual assault. We accomplish this mission by providing our clients with strong insight into the origins of their behavior, empathy, and the insights and skills necessary to not re-offend. Sotp provided services to 320 clients in all programs.
jamp program works to significantly reduce the violent offences of our clients and in turn to make a positive difference in the quality of life for our clients and those who coexist with them jamp provided services to 35 juveniles in 2014.
cac provides offenders and ex-offenders with counseling on job seeking and interviewing skills. The program also provides financial aid for state identification, clothing, referrals for food, and bus pass for job search purposes. Cac provided services to 80 adults.
hui ola is a 3 months to 1 year program that teacher independent living skills, life skills, anger management and cognitive restructuring. Residents receive individual counseling as well as group counseling. At any given time, we have 1-6 clients at hui ola.
