On the eve of our 25th anniversary, comic relief is still developing new and unique fundraising opportunities, while managing our past commitments. Our 2006 hurricane katrina telethon initiative to "support local arts" continues to this day with our katrina orchestra tour, which offers gainful employment for new orleans musicians, dancers, filmmakers, etc. , affected by the hurricane. Our present goal is that this tour not only becomes self-sustaining, but also raises additional funds for our wildlife preservation initiative through tickets, merchandise, broadcast, and ancillary dvd and cd sales of its performances.

Katrina orchestra tour - generates employment opportunities for new orleans and gulf coast local talent including musicians, artists, writers, filmmakers and others. Participants acquired skills and experience production was fronted with a well-known personality, with the goal of making the orchestra a viable touring and recording entity.

comic relief is commencing efforts to save wildlife and is organizing a major fundraiser for such purposes. The charity also works with california-based or other rescue organizations to provide animal rescue assistance.

comic relief provides small grants to nonprofit agencies providing services to others that are deemed to be consistent with comic relief's mission. Accordingly, this program provides grant giving for general causes meeting comic relief's standards. The amounts given include $400 to an agency supporting the homeless and $15 to haitian relief efforts.
