Mission: The mission of the city parks alliance is to engage, educate and nurture a broad-based constituency to support the creation, revitalization and sustainability of parks and green spaces that contribute to dynamic cities.
Programs: Greater & greener conference is a biennial international urban parks conference that explores cross-sector approaches to the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing today's urban parks. San francisco hosted the five-day conference in april 2015. Minneapolis and saint paul will host the greater & greener 2017 conference.
advocacy: encourage greater government and community investment in urban parks. Programs include mayors for parks coalition building; support for local advocacy to share strategies for funding, programming and stewardship; and national study of neighborhood parks.
community capacity building: engage with city parks alliance members to provide resources and support that improves members' effectiveness and enhances their ability to meet their park goals. Programs include webinars, frontline parks, tours, and training workshops.
communications: web-based technology and information sharing for member outreach.
