Target demographics: Young people can start their journey at CMT with classes and summer camp beginning at age 4. Each summer one Junior Talents show takes participants ages 6-9 yrs old. Our Rising Stars shows accept anyone who auditions from age 8-14 yrs old. Mainstage serves participants 14-20 yrs old. Marquee productions are open to age appropriate participants, but generally include those 20 yrs old and up, including many alumni of the organization.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 1,000 young people participate in our shows, classes and camps each year. Nearly 10,000 young people are included in our school matinee audiences.

Mission:

The mission of Children's Musical Theater San Jose (CMT) is to use musical theater to nurture and educate young people to become the artists, patrons, and leaders of tomorrow. CMT provides a healthy environment where youth are empowered and instilled with universal life skills. CMT is both the journey of a lifetime and the premiere destination for Silicon Valley performers and audiences of all ages.

Both my 25-yr. old and 20-yr. old sons went through CMTSJ summer camps in their middle school years.
