This charity, CTOMA, provides a balance between local and international work. The greatest asset of this charity is providing opportunities for all volunteers to be involved in charity work. CTOMA has a local food program serving needy families, a school backpack program that provided 500 filled backpacks for the 2012 school year. 60 of the backpacks had food for children in a hungry community. The international medical missions provide training for volunteers in international missions and opportunities to travel to more than 8 countries. We have started seed programs in Uganda, and have provided the shipping and distribution of disability devices. We are opening a new clinic in Kenya and teaching disaster relief. 4 of our staff are operations qualified, and are also certified teachers. We provide assistance for medical cases all over the world and have 2 physicians on our consulting staff. There are many other activities of the charity. We assisted 87 missionaries in the summer of 2012 with medical supplies and first aid kits. Nursing students have classes here in our office building and are studying Community Health Nursing. There are many many children impacted by the work of this charity. In addition to the local and international missions, this charity has brought children from other countries to have much needed surgery here in the US. Children have come from Ecuador, San Salvador, The Dominican Republic, and Uganda. This charity has changed my life and I am happy to serve on the Board of Directors which is directing this work. No Board members receive compensation or any other benefit as a result of their service to the charity. I can highly recommend it as a place to learn and to give back to bless others.
